Details

Historical sources state that Editha, Princess of Mercia, founded Polesworth Abbey in the 9th century. Today, the ruins of Abbey Cloister and the two storey mediaeval gateway still remain. The Abbey Church laster converted to the Parish Church of St Editha, consists of a nave, dating back to the 12th century, chanel, north aisle, porch and tower north of the chancel.
