Adventurous youngsters are invited to grab their wellies and explore the new Woodland Welly Walk at one of Warwickshire’s top tourist attractions: Packwood House.
Families are able to let their children run wild in the woodlands, enabling young explorers to have fun and have a chance to get creative.
Using a child friendly map and a ‘Doodle your dream day’ sheet, families can embark on a journey together through ‘a Woodland Dream’ tempting every mind to become inventive. Upon arriving at the start of the walk, visitors are greeted by a unique and enchanting entrance for the adults with a separate entrance for the young discoverers.
With an activity at many points of the walk, children are invited to get hands on, with family members reassured that it is good to get stuck in. Activities include; den building, tree trunk hopping, building a tower of wood and seeing what inventive minds can create from natural resources.
Visitor Experience Officer Sarah Kinnersley says:
'We are very excited to have created such a free and natural play space in these beautiful woodlands. It’s really about encouraging families to engage with the natural environment, let their imaginations run wild and have a great time!'
Young minds are additionally invited to look out for the array of Packwood’s woodland residents. From birds to butterflies and insects, families are able to cross them off the ‘Doodle your dream day’ sheet as they spot them.
Families can take part in the walk at any point during the day within Packwood House’s opening times. Visitors can pick up a Woodland Dream Map from Visitor Reception. Usual admission to the property applies but the both the welly walk and guiding map are free.
The walk does guarantee the opportunity to get muddy and messy, so be prepared and wear wellies. Packwood House are offering wellies to loan out which can be obtained from the Car Park.
