Details

Warwick Castle have dedicated the whole month of November (5th November – 30th November) to blow the dust off its Unique Collection of Arms and Armour in an exciting display and interactive exhibition. We aim to destroy the Hollywood myths and tell the riveting truth behind this much loved but very mis-understood Knightly Historic Art Form.

We will be letting visitors get closer than ever before to our authentic pieces of shinning armour and deadly weapons by showing how they worked, how they were made, who they supposedly belonged to, and how they ended up in Warwick Castle’s magnificent Great Hall!

As well as regular Talks and Workshops with our knowledgeable team, there will be the chance to try on and handle real pieces of reproduction armour and swords! A unique opportunity not to be missed!

In addition to this, guests can enjoy engaging talks and tours several times a day including;
1) Hollywood Myths – “Why is armour so heavy?” – 11.00am and 3pm – Uncover the truth behind some of Hollywood’s greatest myths and lies surrounding Knights from silver-screen History.
2) Swords, Axes and Guns – “What is more deadly?” – 12.00pm – Seek out the barbarous and horrific weapons that ruled the Battlefield and claimed the lives of many throughout the ages…
3) Forgery vs. The Real Thing – 13.00pm and 4.00pm Discover the stories behind Warwick Castle’s unique collection and the Earls who collected it!
