AlcesterAlcester

Follow Alcester's Heritage Trail and discover historic buildings, a wonderful selection of exciting pubs and tearooms, plus a wide choice of traditional, independent shops. Meander down picturesque streets and soak up the authentic atmosphere of delightfully preserved buildings, lanes and passageways that provide a superb backdrop to the vibrant bustle of this modern day market town. Situated where the River Alne joins the River Arrow, its mediaeval street pattern survives almost intact, along with many ancient buildings including the 17th century Town Hall and the Parish Church of St Nicholas with its 14th century tower.

Don't miss Roman Alcester, a museum which traces the town's links to the Romans and their continuing influence.

Join locals at a number of annual events including the February Pancake Race, Town Crier's Competition in the spring, Mediaeval Street market in June, Mop Fair in October plus other folk, beer and arts festivals parades and concerts.
