Compton VerneyVisitors of all ages are warmly welcomed to this award-winning art gallery. Housed in a grade I listed mansion re-modelled by Robert Adam in the 1760s and surrounded by stunning 'Capability' Brown landscaped parkland, Compton Verney offers a great day out.
Be enthralled by our programme of exhibitions, which this year will include an exhibition of works by Francis Bacon illustrating how film and photography have inspired his work; explore the phenomena of Volcanoes, seeing how they have inspired artists from Turner to Warhol. We end the year with an exhibition of extraordinary photographs by Kurt Tong which document the emergent Chinese tradition of burning paper versions of world possessions for use in the afterlife, alongside an exhibition of artists-designed Christmas cards.
Explore artworks from around the world with our fantastic permanent collection, including Europe's finest display of Chinese Bronzes, paintings from the 'Golden Age' of Italian art, and the largest collection of British Folk Art in the UK.
Enjoy a refreshing break in our fully licensed, waitress service café or relax outside with a picnic and a stroll along our woodland footpaths.
All of this alongside our exciting events programme, including fun family activities, adult workshops, lectures, artists talks and daily tours.
