Set amongst the rolling hills of the Warwickshire countryside on the banks of the River Avon, Stratford-upon-Avon is a wonderful destination for a short break with many attractions for all the family.
In Spring 2007 the RSC begun a major programme to transform the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and surrounding site to create the finest modern playhouse for Shakespeare in the world. The scheme reflects the RSC's ambition to make Shakespeare fresh and relevant to existing audiences and to attract a new generation of theatre goers. During building works, The Courtyard Theatre, the RSC's new temporary theatre, is the main playing space in Stratford-upon-Avon.
