Where better to enjoy a performance by the world's greatest playwright than in his hometown?  You will be moved by a performance from the Royal Shakespeare Company.  The packed 2010 summer season includes King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, Antony and Cleopatra, Hamlet, Morte D'Arthur, The Winter's Tale, As You Like It, Julius Caesar and the Comedy of Errors all of which are performed in the RSC's Courtyard Theatre.

There are also a number of small theatre companies in Shakespeare Country including The Loft Theatre in Leamington Spa and Bridge House Theatre in Warwick both of which offer a varied schedule of productions throughout the year.

There are a number of touring companies that perform plays in Shakespeare Country including Oddsocks and Shakespeare's Globe, who perfom at such diverse locations as Coventry Cathedral, Mary Arden's Farm and Warwick Castle.

If you prefer cinema to live theatre, there are two cinemas locally, the Apollo in Leamington Spa and the PictureHouse in Stratford upon Avon.
