Details

Mixed woodland and shrubs in a natural setting around a large pond attracting a wild variety of wildlife and birds. Managed by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, the site has a network of surfaced and grassy paths.

The park was created in 1989, in partnership between Rugby Borough Council and Sainsbury's. Cock Robin Wood has flourishe over the last decade, developing into a valuable habitat for a diverse range of plant and animal life. Trees and shrubs provide nesting cover for a large variety of birds, and the well established wildlife pond has become home to many insect species, such as dragonflies, frogs, water-boatman and diving beatles.

Located just a short drive or bus journey from Rugby town centre, Cock Robin Wood provides a haven of tranquility in a busy urban environment.

A large car park, wide entry gates and level paths enable easy access for all.

The sculptures you will see as you wander through this beautiful woodland haven are all inspired by the natural wildlife found within its boundaries. All are carved from English oak that has been extracted from managed woodlands. The sculptures are entitled Bulrushes Water, Cock Robin Sun, Dragonflies, Flowers, Frog, Newt, Snail Trees, Sun Trees and Trees. All were inspired by designs put forward by the children of Bilton, C of E Junior School, January 2000.
