Details

Willoughby - Willow trees.

The name of this village is said to be derived from the willow trees that once grew here by the brook.

The church of St Nicholas's, first appearing in records in 1215, has a fine decorated tower that is otherwise of the Perpendicular style. The pulpit is 17th century and the font is Norman, hewn from a single block of sandstone.
